I worked on a print poster for Black Division.
The concept revolved around capturing elements of a rap fan, but with a twist that defied the conventional street culture norms.
To bring this concept to life, we enlisted the help of an actor who embodied the character of this unique fan. Through a series of staged photoshoots, we captured the essence of the character, showcasing their unconventional style and attitude.
Using these photographs as the foundation, we embarked on creating a collage that exuded a kitschy aesthetic. The focal point of the poster became the phrase "Jean Lou Valide," which served as a playful nod to the fan's enthusiastic validation of the new album.
The collage incorporated various elements associated with rap fandom, but with a twist. Instead of conforming to the typical street culture, we juxtaposed unconventional and eclectic elements to create a visually captivating composition. The result was a visually striking poster that conveyed the unique personality and individuality of the fan.
By deviating from the expected norms and embracing a kitschy aesthetic, we aimed to capture attention and spark curiosity among the target audience.
