I took this assignment for Havas, where I had the opportunity to document the life of the Marine National in Toulon. This unique project took me from Paris to Toulon, where I was transported by a Marine National helicopter to the naval base. The objective was to capture the daily routines and experiences of the dedicated crew members of the Marine National.
This assignment allowed me to immerse myself in the world of the Marine National and shed light on the incredible work they do. From the moment I arrived in Toulon, I was captivated by the bustling naval base and the palpable sense of purpose that permeated the air.
My role as a documentary photographer was to capture the authenticity of the daily life of the Marine National. I spent countless hours observing and interacting with the crew members, documenting their routines, training exercises, and moments of camaraderie. Each photograph aimed to convey the dedication, discipline, and professionalism that define the Marine National.
From early morning drills to late-night operations, I witnessed firsthand the immense responsibility and commitment exhibited by the crew. Through my lens, I sought to convey their tireless efforts, teamwork, and unwavering focus on ensuring the safety and security of the nation's maritime interests.
The helicopter ride to the naval base provided a unique perspective, allowing me to capture breathtaking aerial shots of the base and the surrounding coastline. These images not only showcased the scale and magnitude of the Marine National's operations but also highlighted the beauty and strategic significance of their location.
The project presented both challenges and rewards. Adapting to the fast-paced environment, I had to anticipate moments and capture them in their raw and authentic form. Additionally, building trust and rapport with the crew members was crucial, as it allowed me to capture intimate and candid moments that truly reflected their lives.
