"Pastel Days" is a collection that encapsulates the essence of Myanmar's colors, landscapes, and people. During my backpacking and trekking adventure through this captivating country, I embraced the opportunity to explore remote and offbeat locations. The series reflects my desire to capture the unique charm and tranquility that exists in the lesser-known corners of Myanmar.
The landscapes depicted in "Pastel Days" adopt a minimalist approach, allowing the natural beauty to shine through. The soft, pastel hues that permeate the photographs pay homage to the color palette found throughout Myanmar. By emphasizing simplicity and serenity, I sought to convey the peacefulness and timelessness of the locations I encountered.
In contrast, the intimate portraits of individuals in the series provide a more personal and human connection. Using a fixed 35mm lens, I intentionally approached my subjects to establish a genuine rapport. This approach allowed me to capture authentic moments and create a visual dialogue between the viewer and the person in the photograph. Through their eyes and expressions, we glimpse the stories and emotions that lie within.
Throughout my journey, I embraced the spirit of adventure and exploration. From encountering the warm smiles of locals in remote villages to marveling at the awe-inspiring landscapes, every experience shaped my perception of Myanmar and influenced the composition of "Pastel Days."
